Safety
Featured cutting edge safety options include: sensors that monitor your blind spots and that warn you when vehicles ahead of you are decelerating quickly. Standard equipment includes: modern air bags, anti-lock brakes and traction control.
Reliability
Since there are few options for new, small multi-use camper vehicles, many opt to buy older vehicles. Sure, you can restore and even transplant modern drive trains into older vehicles, but at the end of the day, they are still older vehicles with higher risk of breaking down. When camping or heading off on a weekend adventure, there is an appeal to a smooth ride and to knowing you can just turn the key and be on your way.
Efficiency
A powerful engine with good fuel mileage, 7-speed automatic transmission and efficiency of space: park easily in any average parking space and move about in the roomy interior.
Why did we choose Reimo? Design and Safety
Design
The German's have the most experience in thoughtful design of smaller vehicle poptops and livable spaces. Reimo has been refining their designs since the 60's with an easy to raise top, air flow through vents and strong and sleek. Both the Weekender and the full camper are equipped with a comfortable, full length bed that folds into a seat, utilizing a track system that allows you to position it forward or back for maximum options for transporting gear. Easily/Safely attach most any children's car seat to one of the two ISO fixing points on the rear sliding seat.
Safety
German's are required to meet tougher safety standards than the U.S. Reimo's seat and installation procedure has passed the German TUV Test. We designed additional bracing for the top which has passed the FMVSS 216A test for U.S. and Canada. When you cut a hole in the top of a new vehicle and/or replace vehicle seats and seat tracks, it is important to know that you are not sacrificing safety.
Why should you consider a Mercedes Metris with a Santa Cruz Campers van conversion? Value and Convenience
Value
Owning a vehicle is not cheap. You have sales tax, insurance, registration and maintenance. With two cars, you double these expenses. Of course if your budget allows and you can accommodate the parking spaces, you can always own a Tesla and a Sprinter. But for the more modest family, the Metris with our Santa Cruz Campers van conversion sufficiently fills the needs of two vehicles.
Convenience
This is a great every day vehicle. Small enough to fit in normal parking spaces and very maneuverable, yet large enough for those trips to Costco and Home Depot. Our van conversion then gives you the added versatility of taking weekend adventures or camping excursions. Try putting a rooftop tent on the Tesla and you will end up on the Facebook wall of shame!
